Online performing arts sessions for ages 14-18 with a learning disability
About Blue Apple
Blue Apple Theatre was founded by Jane Jessop with Tommy Jessop in 2005 because many people with learning disabilities said they were isolated and lonely with no opportunity to take part in the performing arts.
Right from the beginning, the aim was to be ambitious, lift the ceiling of expectation and change the way the public see people with any form of learning disability.
Blue Apple is now recognised as one of the foremost theatre companies in the UK for people with a learning disability, performing and touring drama, dance, film and song locally, nationally and even internationally with partners in the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy.
Blue Apple changes lives by providing empowering, enriching opportunities, with a sense of purpose and belonging, where friendships are forged and people discover their skills and grow in confidence.
They run on Saturday mornings during term time for young people 14-18 who have a learning disability as they currently have capacity for a few more participants.
Who? For 14-18 year olds with a learning disability.
When? During term-time weekly on Saturdays 11am-12pm.
Where? Online via Zoom.
Cost? Taster sessions are free. Then £7 per session payable termly/half-termly in advance.
How to book? To book or ask questions please email groups@blueappletheatre.com or phone/text 07510 844480

Find Your Voice Singing and Social group
The health and wellbeing benefits of singing together as a group have been increasingly documented over the past few years.
Find your Voice is a weekly singing and social group for people with a range of conditions including (but not exclusively) Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone diseases, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke. Relatives and carers are also encouraged to join in.
We are delighted to announce that we are re-starting our face to face Find Your Voice singing group sessions in September.
It is taking place on Mondays at Hilperton Village Hall (BA14 7RN) at 1pm. There is the option of joining the session via zoom instead of attending in person.
Each session, our wonderful singing leader Frankie takes us through breathing and movement, voice and singing warm ups. Then we sing.
You don’t need to be able to sing. With the inclusion of fun exercises, the sessions can help to improve the strength of your voice and swallowing.
Please contact Louise Rendle for more details on 01380871800 or info@wsun.co.uk
