Family Hubs Update
|
We organised a presentation at our November WPCC Information Event to provide information on the development of Family Hubs in Wiltshire and we promised to provide an update when further information became available. It has just been announced that Wiltshire Council has awarded a contract to Spurgeons to provide new Family Hubs in communities throughout the county.
The new Family Hub new model will begin in April 2024 and will give greater local community support and guidance for families and young people aged from 0 to 19, extending to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The development of the new model has been informed by extensive engagement with parent carers and other stakeholders across the county.
The plan includes the provision of hubs in community buildings throughout the county, plus main hubs in Trowbridge, Chippenham and Salisbury. There will also be a digital platform that can be accessed on phones, tablets or computers, offering information, support, and courses. Each hub will have its own team of navigators. They will have a visible presence in the community to ensure they are on hand to offer help to families that need it, and to signpost and create links to other agencies, such as local schools and early years providers.
The list of locations is as follows; (opening days and times will be available in March 2024, before the hubs open): -
