Supported Living Consultation Results

We are absolutely delighted to report that, further to the consultation meetings held in December, the Council have reacted very positively to the view expressed by many that young people with SEND do not "fit" appropriately into a strategy designed to meet the needs of a wide band of young people including pregnant teenagers and young offenders. Unlike the latter groups, young people with SEND have needs which are lifelong and provision of accommodation and support must take this into account. The Council have agreed to draw up a new strategy specifically dealing with the support and accommodation needs of young people with SEND. WPCC will be fully involved at all stages of this process.
