WPCC's Managing Aggressive Contact Policy

The Wiltshire Parent Carer Council (WPCC) is committed to ensuring that every member of staff and volunteer have a right to work in a safe, supportive and caring environment, free from abuse and aggression.

We have produced a ‘Managing Aggressive Contact Policy’ which is designed to support and protect staff and volunteer welfare and outlines the steps that will be taken where behaviour is unacceptable.

WPCC staff and volunteers have the right not to be subjected to any behaviour or abuse that includes: -
• Threats of physical harm or violence
• Inappropriate religious, cultural or racial insults
• Homophobic, sexist or other derogatory remarks
• Discrimination with regard to disability, neurodiversity etc.

Any verbal abuse towards staff or volunteers is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Malicious, abusive or threatening calls are a criminal offence.

We are pleased to say that the vast majority of people engaging with the WPCC are keen to work with us in a positive and constructive manner, and are supportive of our efforts.
