Independent Living Skills Course at Paxcroft Mead Community Centre: Walk and Talk for Wellbeing
The next course is Walk and Talk for Wellbeing starting on Thursday 17th July 2025. This aims to build on previous wellbeing courses, where participants will explore the five ways to wellbeing while also exploring the local community on short, hopefully sunny walks.
Learners will develop their communications skills, build resilience, learn about the local area, and explore how charitable work can support wellbeing.
Courses are free of charge if learners are 19+ years old by 31 August, live in Wiltshire, have been resident in UK/EU for 3+ years, (certain immigration statuses exempt, including resettlement schemes ) and meet our eligibility criteria. Please complete the online application form, or call 01225 770478 for support to complete the form. If you are unsure whether you meet the eligibility criteria, please call or email familyandcommunitylearning@wiltshire.gov.uk.
New learners will need to complete an application form ([Enrolment - Work Wiltshire]) to start a booking.
All learners need to attend the welcome meeting on Thursday 10th July 2025 at 12:30pm, during which they complete a learner journey and identify tailored goals for the course.
Booking closes on Monday 7th July 2025. Where learners need support, support needs to be in place during the course.
On receiving an application form, contact will be made to talk through the course and check suitability and support needs.
