The Health and Social care Act 2012 introduced Healthwatch as the new consumer champion for health and social care.
Healthwatch is an organisation with independent statutory powers to ensure the consumers’ voice is heard and best practice is delivered in health and social care nationally.
Healthwatch Wiltshire will cover the following three functions:
- A consumer champion
- A gateway to information
- An NHS complaints advocacy service
