You Could be Paid to Help Deliver Training
The B&NES, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB) is looking for people with a lived experience of Autism to co-deliver The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training to BSW Health and Social care colleagues.
This training is called the Oliver McGowan Training in Learning Disability and Autism. The training is named after Oliver McGowan, whose tragic death in 2016, told us that better training, skills and knowledge are needed for staff in caring for people with learning disabilities and autism.
The training was co-designed and co-produced by people with lived experience and is now the standard training across health and social care.
The training will be delivered from June 2023 to March 2024 for Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Swindon and Wiltshire staff.
The training is co-delivered by people who use Autism and Learning Disability services.
Interested?
The BSW ICB would like to hear from you if you have lived experience of Autism and you are interested in being trained as a trainer. Your time and travel will be paid for being involved in this project (time is paid at £18 per hour)
