Transport Provided By Starline Taxis

Wiltshire Council has advised the WPCC that children and young people whose school or social care transport is provided by Starline Taxis will be affected as a result of Starline Taxis announcing that they have ceased trading.

The WPCC has been assured that all affected families have been contacted by Wiltshire Council following the sudden notice by Starline Taxis that they have ceased trading. Families have been informed that Wiltshire Council is working hard to make alternative arrangements, but this is challenging, especially given the number of children and young people affected and the lack of notice given. Families who are affected and are able to transport their children themselves, can claim reimbursement from Wiltshire Council at the rate of 41.1p per mile, which can be claimed for all of the mileage of two round trips per day.

The passenger transport team appreciates that this will be a very unsettling time for affected families and they are doing all they can to recover the situation as quickly as possible. The passenger transport team has committed to keep families who are affected up to date with progress.
