Request for questions from parent carers about secondary school SEND provision

Wiltshire Council is in the process of updating its ‘SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) Provision in Secondary Schools’ guidance document for mainstream schools (which includes Named Pupil Allowance, Enhanced Learning Provision and Alternative Provision). Wiltshire Parent Carer Council is working with Wiltshire Council to produce a leaflet for parent carers which summarises the schools’ document and gives an overview of SEND provision in mainstream secondary schools.

We would like the leaflet to include questions frequently asked by parent carers about secondary school provision and would like your help in gathering some of the common questions that you might have. If you are happy to take part, we’d like you to think of up to 4 things you would like answers to that might help others as well, for example, you might have concerns/questions around your child transitioning to or from secondary school and how things might be different, who will be your main contact at secondary school, etc.

Please let us know your questions by 5pm on Sunday 18th June
