Manor School Bereavement Hub

Following the tragic death of a pupil at The Manor School it was realised that resources that enable young people to manage bereavement were limited. In order to address this, Extended Services for Melksham have created a 'Bereavement Hub' at The Manor School.

The hub is located in a space away from the main school and comprises of an area where children can sit quietly to reflect and a library of books which focus on bereavement. The books aim to help children understand terminal illness, sudden deaths and the bereavement processes that occur after death. They offer practical responses to frequently asked questions that to some may be obvious but to others may be new. The books can be used in the hub or can be loaned out to be used in the family home.

In a society that often seems to shun the reality of death the bereavement hub offers support and information, and may help the bereaved approach a difficult subject with some knowledge.

If you would like to access the resources please contact The Manor School on 01225 700150.
