Face 2 Face Online Befriending Service

Caring for a child with additional needs can be tough. When you’re juggling work, household tasks and countless medical appointments for your child, there’s little time left for you; many parents feel alone and unsupported.

Would you like to talk to another parent who understands what you are going through and can offer emotional and practical support?

Face 2 Face is a network of trained, volunteer befrienders that can help parents make positive adjustments to the news that their child has a disability or additional need, or at any other time a parent is feeling overwhelmed by their situation. All volunteers are themselves the parent of a child with a disability or additional need.

The Face 2 Face Online (email and telephone) Befriending Service delivers support to:-

  • Parents who do not have a local Face 2 Face scheme in their area, such as Wiltshire
  • Those who find it easier to discuss their feelings by email or telephone and may not be ready to meet with someone in person
  • Those with commitments that make meeting in person difficult

If you would like to be contacted by another parent by email or telephone please contact co-ordinator, Juliet Blackburn on 01454 632340 or email juliet.blackburn@scope.org.uk
