Parent webinar - benefits for disabled young people aged 16-19 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland

Join for the upcoming Contact Webinar ‘Parent webinar - benefits for disabled young people aged 16-19 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland’ taking place on Thursday 20th August 2020 at 10:30am.

This webinar will be presented by Derek Sinclair who leads Contact's Family Finance team. This webinar is for parents of disabled children in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and provides an introduction to benefits for a disabled child aged 16 - 19. The webinar looks at the process involved in moving from Disability Living Allowance to Personal Independence Payment at age 16. It also looks at the other benefits choices faced by families with a young disabled person aged 16-19. Some families may be able to continue claiming benefits such as tax credits and child benefit for their 16-19 year old. In other cases a young person may be able to claim Universal Credit in their own right as a disabled adult. However this may not be easy if they remain in education. This webinar provides an overview of benefit options for families with a disabled child aged 16-19 and assumes no previous knowledge.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
