Grants to Support People with Disabilities

The Percy Bilton Charity is a grant-making trust that gives grants towards furnishings and equipment (excluding office items), building or refurbishment projects for disadvantaged youth, people with disabilities, people with mental health problems and older people.


Applications must be made by support workers working within the Council or NHS Trust on behalf of people who are on a low income and have a serious illness, disability or are over 65 on low income. The Charity will not accept or acknowledge applications made directly by individuals or from any other agency.

The aim of this programme is to provide urgent one off assistance for essential items to the beneficiaries, and can help with:-

  • Washing machines (via their supplier)
  • Electric cookers (via their supplier)
  • Fridges/Freezers (via their supplier)
  • Beds and bedding (via their supplier)
  • Vacuum cleaners and portable heaters (via their supplier)
  • Carpets/Flooring where there is a health & safety issue (up to £250)
  • Essential clothing and footwear (via a pre-paid Gift Card)


How to apply
Support workers should contact the Charity by phone for an application form which will be sent by email. The form must be completed in full and returned by email to information@percybiltoncharity.org. Alternatively, the form may be posted together with a covering letter on Local or Health Authority headed notepaper. Incomplete application forms will not be considered or acknowledged.
