SERVICES the WPCC is Working with
AIMING HIGH FOR DISABLED CHILDREN
With the introduction of 'Aiming High for Disabled Children' local authorities are required to work with parents and carers around Short Breaks and Transition, Wheelchair Services and Palliative Care.
Wiltshire Council is very much committed to working with parents and carers and the WPCC is in the fortunate position to have received EXTRA funding from our local authority for 2009-2010.
In the current economic climate, this gesture is testament to the priority Wiltshire Council is giving to the needs of disabled children, young people and their families.

OTHER SERVICES, LOCAL GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS
Although 'Aiming High for Disabled Children' was initially introduced to promote the involvement of parents and carers in the transformation of specific services, the ultimate goal is to bring about a CULTURE CHANGE in the way all services for disabled children, young people and their families are shaped in the future.
As a result, invitations from services which do not come under the Aiming High for Disabled Children umbrella have now started working with us, which is fantastic news and, in our books, real PROGRESS!
We also work with local groups and organisations with the aim of providing a more joined up service and clearer information for families. This list is constantly being updated but currently includes those to the right.
