Move It!
Disability Dance Project for young people 13-25yrs
Wiltshire Dancing is working closely with Wiltshire Council and P.O.P Youth Dance Project to deliver 2 disability dance projects in Chippenham and Trowbridge.
The project has been funded by Children in Need and Wiltshire and Swindon Activity and Sports Partnership, Health and wellbeing.
Move It! will be led by a professional dance artist with specialist skills in delivering to young people with learning and physical disabilities. The aim of the project is to get more young people active through dance and to develop a sustainable dance project for them to continue with when the 20 week programme is complete.
There will be opportunities for the Move It! groups to perform at Youth Dance festivals and to also demonstrate their skills to other youth dance groups.
Arts Awards will become part of the project where Young People can gain an accredited award for their dance work and also become peer mentors for the development of the project.
Move It! is also looking for some assistants to support the dance artist during the sessions. If you feel you have an interest in dance or an interest in working with Young People, then please get in touch with Wiltshire Dancing.
